Laptop reviewed the nc2400, HP’s business compaq that looks like the bastard spawn of a ThinkPad and a Smurf. This 12-inch notebook weighs 3.6 pounds and manages to stick an optical drive into its tiny frame. The model they tested had a 1.2-GHz Core Solo processor with 512MB of RAM standard. They saw over 5 hours hours of battery life on one charge—not too shabby.
Priced at $1,599, this bugger looks like a good choice for business folks who don’t want to go the Lenovo route.

Today at E3, Toshiba unveils the Qosmio G35-AV650, the first notebook with an HD DVD player inside. It’s also loaded with a 17-inch 1920×1200 display, a 2GHz Intel Core Duo processor, two 100GB hard drives in a RAID configuration and a gig of DDR2 memory. It’s not skimping in the graphics department, either, with an NVidia GeForce Go 7600 256MB graphics card. Weighing a hefty 10.1 pounds, it will be running Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition 2005, and will cost a cool $3000. Look for it on Toshiba’s website later this week and in stores next week.

If you are dumb enough to buy a Powerbook in an alley by a liquor store in New York City then maybe you are meant to be an Apple owner. Zing! Just kidding Jobs, you know me love you long time.
The picture above is a fake Powerbook that was purchased for $200. It had an authentic box, but the actual laptop was made out of cardboard and the Apple logo was painted in WITE-OUT. At least they actually put the Apple logo on the fake Powerbook. Would hate to have someone think they purchased a Gateway or Dell knock-off.
